Di Carter, BScHons MBA CMgr FIML
With many years’ experience in the disability, aged care and community sector, Principal Consultant Di Carter, has a proven track record in making a difference in the community.
Di completed her first Honours degree in North Wales, UK, and worked in the areas of hospitality and then social services, recognising she wanted to make a difference in her community. Her work at the University of Tasmania and Masters of Business Administration degree provided a platform to work across the social services – for Dementia Australia Tasmania as General Manager Client Services; Operations Manager for Colony 47; Acting CEO of Carers Tasmania and southern Client Services Manager for Community Care Tasmania.
Di’s past voluntary work has encompassed: Vice President of Playgroups Australia and President of Playgroups Tasmania; President of Australian Association of Gerontology; President of Council on the Ageing; and Deputy Convenor on the Tasmanian Women’s Consultative Council.
Di’s current voluntary roles are: President of Dementia Friendly Tasmania; Secretary of Disability Voices Tasmania; Board member of Kingborough and Huon Business Enterprise Centre; and member of the Kingborough Council Access Advisory Committee.
Di’s MBA stands her in good stead to be analytical in her approach to organisational problems, and her more recent Chartered Manager status as a Fellow with the Institute of Managers & Leaders further exemplifies her level of skills.
This depth and breadth of work and life experience positions Di as an excellent independent consultant who works with aged care service providers, disability and community businesses on organisational culture, continuous improvement and project management.
